Welcome and thank you for your interest in my psychotherapy practice. I am a licensed clinical social worker with over fifteen years of experience specializing in individual, couples and family therapy. During this time, I have grown to have great respect for the courage and strength of my clients.
My approach to therapy involves working with you to create a therapeutic relationship in which you may:
* gain greater insight and understanding about yourself .
* identify your resources and strengths.
* explore issues you are concerned about.
* learn new skills.
* make concrete changes that move you toward your goals.
In my practice I utilize several different approaches to assist my clients, such as Psychodynamic theory, Systems theory and Cognitive therapy.
I stress self care as the main building block of therapy.
A partial list of the areas I am experienced treating are:
Depression and Anxiety
Marriage concerns
Post-partum adjustment
Parenting coaching- (new parent stress, relationship, bonding difficulties, negotiating limits, discipline)
Personal Growth- (resolving childhood issues, increasing self-awareness, improving self-esteem, developing assertiveness, setting boundaries)
Life Changes- (Divorce, empty nest, coping with illness and grief.)
I have experience working in the community mental health setting, an inpatient psychiatric treatment facility for adolescents, a family services agency and private practice.
I look forward to meeting with you!
